Exterior: The car was repainted in original colour in 2015 by previous owner and still looks very nice today. The car was originally from Arizona and we can not see that there was ever any welding done on this car. Doors, hood and trunk have perfect fit and new rubber seals. Chrome and glass are very good. Wheels were just sandblasted and painted, then fitted with new tyres, hubcaps and chrome rings. Also, new headlights.
Interior: New dashboard, carpet, door sides and leather on the seats. The instruments are in excellent condition and they all work, and that should not be taken for granted in these cars. As you can see, the original Bendix Volvo radio is still in the car today and it comes with the original brochure. The car was equipped with air condition by the Volvo dealer in USA. It has today been removed from the car, but all parts are there and if you are from a country where an AC would be required in a car like this, it can be fitted again. (It comes along with the car)
Engine: New fuel pump and a complete new fuel tank fitted recently. The Stromberg carburettors have recently been rebuilt and adjusted so the car runs perfectly. Recent service with new oil, plugs etc. New bushings and joints front and rear, new shocks. Newly rebuilt brake servo, new wheel cylinders, brake shoes in the back and new master cylinder last year.
History: Mr George M Cook in Phoenix Arizona bought this car new in 1968. And he kept it until 2010 when it was sold to a Swede and brought back home. So, in total of two owners since 1968. The documentation of this car is absolutely amazing. There is everything still with the car. Original warranty certificate and booklet, original handbook, sales brochures, and many receipts from maintenance work that was done in USA. Even private photographs taken 1968. Brochure with all Volvo options available at the time, the dealer directory and even Mr Cook's Volvo owner identification card! The miles counter was changed for a km one when the car came to Sweden and the car has today a total of 220, 000km.
