Selling my beloved ford escort, due to our family out growing it and I don't want to see it sitting unused. This car has been well loved by our whole family. Shes genuinely the most reliable car we've had and we have done a 2000+mile road trip in her from Oxfordshire to Ireland. Going through wales, driving the Wild Atlantic Way, Causeway Coastal drive, then through Scotland and the lake district home. She did not falter even on the longest stretch which was 7 hours! From this you'll understand this IS NOT A SHOW CAR. Starts and drives well even in winter, so not just a summer car!
Now onto the important bits.
Its a Ford escort MK1 in daytona yellow, with custom roof and matching samco hoses, 1300L body and registered as 1300.
However has a 1650cc bored xflow engine fitted, with a lightened and balanced crank and flywheel, bullet gear box, fast road cam and twin choke Weber carb. Also has new piston rings and all new gaskets etc as the engine was rebuilt around 500 miles ago. New alternator, new battery. It has electronic ignition, is alarmed and has central locking with push button key fob.
BAD POINTS: rear windows do not wind down o/ s winder missing, Small dent in drivers wing, drivers door lock spins.
Body work is in good condition, repair panels welded in top strut mounts and new roller bearing top mounts.
This really is a brilliant example of a real escort, that can be used and enjoyed! AGAIN, THIS IS NOT A SHOW CAR, IT HAS SLIGHT RUST IN AREAS PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT A SHOW ROOM CONDITION CAR.
