Description
This car was purchased in 1967 and then driven about 12, 850 miles before being carefully garaged (under cover, on stilts etc) in 1985. I then inherited the car (I am the second owner) in 2009. It only required a bit of oil, changing of fluids and new tyres before running again. It passed its MOT in December 2009 with only two advisories (the front exhaust has a minor leak and the front suspension has slight play in the upper suspension ball joint). I then ran out of time to enjoy the car (fatherhood...) so it was carefully garaged once again in 2010, at the current mileage (12, 986 miles), and has been in the garage since.
I don't want to sell the car but in the absence of time to put it back on the road again and enjoy it, I have run out of excuses for taking up garage space. That said, I don't think much work would be required to get the car back on the road. Having dusted it off to take the accompanying photos, it would need a new accelerator cable, the choke needs a new bolt and a new alternator may be required, but I suspect that's it.
The bottom of the car was rubberized in the 60s, which has protected it from the usual rust. There is a little rust around the wheel arches and there are a few minor dents and scratches from people shuffling past in the garage over the years, but nothing major.
The red leather interior is in excellent condition.
This car would be perfect for an enthusiast who wants a low mileage example for driving and/ or showing.
I can provide more photos and information on request.
