Description
I'm very reluctantly selling my XJR as I really should be freeing up funds for my other project, something that a 300+ 24 year old Jag doesn't always allow.
Good bits:
Supercharger!
The autobox is smooth and works well in either mode.
The body, Signal Red paint and chromework are in a great condition, including the underside. This is an extremely rare colour!
There's a full manifold back stainless steel exhaust system on the car, including cats. It's actually a bit too quiet but gives a nice tone.
Full DAB sound system with aftermarket speakers throughout if you get tired of the supercharger.
The car runs and drives very nicely and goes like a superchargers Jag should.
The aircon is absolutely spot on.
Bad points:
Mechanically and electrically the car isn't so great, but still perfectly useable.
The head could do with a rebuild due to worn valve guides but runs fine if you keep a close eye on the oil level. I do have the rebuild kit for this which will be thrown in.
To offset the fancy exhaust, the manifolds are still iron and are blowing. I do have one spare decent one which will go with the car.
The wheels are on the verge of needing a refurb.
Various parts of the suspension are nearing 25 years old, so in need of refreshing.
A few electronic items have decided to play up recently, namely the aerial and exterior boot switch.
Sub 20mpg. Single figures if you put your foot down but if you're looking at an XJR that isn't something that should concern you!
Service history from 2011 and a bit patchy, but I have everything from my ownership period.
Drivers seat leather side bolster torn but the seat is still very comfy.
Overall it's a good car that just requires some love and attention. It still goes very well and gets quite a bit of attention, all of which has been positive.
I want the car to go to someone who is willing to spend the time on the car and keep it going. With the issues and mileage it maybe a good car to play with and use as a proper toy.
