We are delighted to offer this beautiful matching numbers, manual transmission Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe onto the market. This example was built at St Louis and retains its factory original 327ci V8 engine that was built at the Flint Plant. We have checked both engine number and block casting numbers which match the chassis number and can also confirm the Corvette left the factory with manual transmission. The car is finished in the superb colour combination of Ermine White with Red trim and has being a 1964 model, has some unique features to the year including the seats being broader at the top of the back cushion, raised ‘pod’ for door handle mountings only seen in this year of production and also, the three prong knock off wheel hub was only available in 1964.
This Corvette arrived in the UK in 2016 having been subject of major re-commissioning work in Florida. We are told the car was thoroughly checked over with Tampa Corvette having been owned for many years by an elderly gentleman in Florida who in recent years had covered very little, if any mileage at all. We can see from inspecting the car the Corvette was treated to new front and rear shock absorbers, rear spring, wheel cylinders, brake drums, flexi hoses, engine mounts, fuel pump, starter motor and new tyres. We can also confirm the V8 engine is in excellent order with impressive compression across all cylinders and correct oil pressure. The gearbox is equally as impressive with lovely smooth changes up and down the gearbox and quiet bearings.
On arrival in the UK it has been placed in a private collection and has covered very few miles over the past three years. The Corvette will be sold by us MOT tested, fully serviced and warranted and due to the very low recent use, will be diligently prepared and gone through. The car presents superbly, the paintwork is exceptional, the chrome work excellent and the interior is in fabulous condition. The engine bay is clean and well-presented, and the underside is strong and totally solid. The Stingray is a true delight to drive with fantastic performance, handling and braking, and will not disappoint on the road. We see very few of thse sought after Coupe models and with manual transmission and matching numbers, this is a very desirable car in a superb colour combination.
