When this arrived with us, it went straight into our workshop, as whilst with the last owner, it had been garaged and had seen very little use – about 1000 miles in the last 10 years according to the MOT database. We’ve recommissioned it including a new dynamo, voltage regulator, etc, and a good tune, and it now runs like a train, with the performance you expect from an S.
When it arrived, we were struck by how good the bodyshell was. We’ve since been told, anecdotally, that in 1980-81 the whole car was transferred into a then-new BL bodyshell, which would account for it’s condtion as it seems to have been garaged thereafter and used sparingly. However we don’t have any documentation to support a bodyshell change, although the ‘FE’ number stamped on the inner NSF wing would tend to support this.
We’ve applied for a heritage certificate and are awaiting receipt – description will be revised as and when it arrives.
Whilst due to it’s age it’s now MOT exempt (on application), if sold in the UK we’re happy to provide a fresh 12 months MOT on sale.
