Description
So here’s something you don’t see everyday.... or ever in fact!!
welcome to my 2000 mk1 renault laguna btcc replica.... built to pay homage to arguably the best era of touring cars.... it took ages to find a mk1 laguna infact around 6 months... but it was a bonus to find one in green and such low mileage!.....
so some key points....
1. 9 dci sport model
super low mileage 60k
mot november 2019
fsh last serviced at 57k
every mot certificate to back the mileage up
original owners handbooks and 2 keys present
so the build
after getting the car..... first thing to do was to colour code paint the bumpers and side strips..... then the car got sent away to a local vinyl company for a week to have the full decal kit from the 1998 btcc car... they did an amazing job... next job was to find the correct wheels as used back in period... a set of 19” tsw monzas were found and powder coated gold and fitted with brand new pirelli p zero tyres.... these have done less than 3k since fitment... a suitable spoiler was sourced and wrapped with the correct logo.... the car is lowered on springs 30mm all round... to accommodate the huge wheels the rear arches were rolled to tuck the wheels just as the race car did....
a homemade splitter was made to give the front end a more authentic look!!
the engine was given a remap producing another 30bhp.... and a stainless steel exhaust was fitted at the same time...
the interior is completely standard with no rips to the seats
as you’d expect the car turns head wherever it goes.... i’ve attended a lot of shows this year and the feedback from people has been great... the most popular comment must be ‘i remember that livery from toca touring cars on the playstation!!’
no warning lights on the car..... no issues at all.... only bad points are some laquer peel on the roof.... age related marks to be expected with a car of this age... door cards are slightly warped at the top
this is genuine reluctant sale i’ll be very sad to see this one go but with too many on going projects... i need to free some space up as the laguna only gets used for shows
