Description

Austin Healey with a twist. This Healey was imported as a sound Texas state car to the UK in 1994, which at that time the Healey already had the 5. 7 V8 Installed. In 2011 the then third UK owner embarked on a restoration and improvement of the Healey, the bodywork was entrusted to Orchard Restorations of East Sussex Austin Healey specialists to prepare and paint the shell, while the mechanicals were upgraded and rebuilt and at this time converted to right hand drive, a Tremec 5 speed gearbox which feeds the power to a Ford 9 Detroit Locker Differential with 2. 8 Ratio. The car was reassembled to look like 100m spec with vented bonnet, knock on D type Wheels, Disc Brakes fitted all round, telescopic shock absorbers and bespoke Alloy fuel tank and Holley pump, Some Healey purists will hate all this, but it is known that Carroll Shelby had a vision to build a similar car prior to Shelby signing to do a similar instal in an AC, the rest is history. Much cooler than a Cobra, you decide, It’s no fake snake. Viewing strictly by prior appointment.
