This is the one you want. The 280 is underpowered, the 320 is OK but a bit gutless, this 500 is the ducks nuts.
I've owned this car for 5 years now and absolutely love it. However other plans mean I now need to move it on and gain my garage space back. It had 95k on when I bought it and it now only has 103k, so pretty low mileage for its age. Many on here have many more miles. It’s been a summer car mostly.
Engine is sweet, starts on the turn and sounds glorious. No leaks and no oil or water use, it’s still got all its ponies! It has stainless back half exhaust so the sound is much better than standard.
The engine harness was remanufactured last year (I sent original one off and company rewires it using PVC cable and original connectors). Mercedes ones are no longer available.
No corrosion or rust. This is important when looking to buy one of these.
No door or panel dents, its straight and as you'll see from pictures the finish is fantastic.
Gearbox is very smooth in operation, kick down is still swift and smooth.
Hard top is still with it, lining has gone saggy but like anything can be fixed easily enough.
Interior is still in great condition, everything works
Roof operation is spot on, another issue that can cause problems but this one's as it should be.
I've garaged it last 5 years and previous owner also garaged it. It’s clearly been looked after and that tells in the condition.
There is a scuff on the rear offside bumper as picture, my fault entirely, I caught it on my garden wall (Doh!! I'm still mad with myself for a school boy error)
Its a 24 year old car so its going to show some signs of it, but I think on viewing you'd also agree it’s probably one of the nicest ones about. If you want perfection at this age, then be prepared to pay for it! I'm asking sensible money; a dealer would ask a hell of a lot more based on condition alone.
These are on here from £5k to £15k and have got to be one of the best value, under estimated modern classics. For the money I’m asking you’d get an earlier one with 150+k miles, rusty wheel arches, knackered leather and a temperamental roof! Etc, etc.
If your interested contact me, I'm convinced you'll not buy better without paying a lot more, I'm realistic about these things.
The private plate is no longer on the car, it’s now M757 TEO
I've got more pictures if wanted, just ask.
Anything else just ask.
Oh and one last thing, please, please, please no (more) time wasters and no stupid offers.
