1970 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow
Brief background to vehicle-
Built 18. 03. 70 for Rossleigh Ltd of Edinburgh, at a build cost of £8572. 11. 1st registered 15. 06. 70 and assigned to registration no. SSG 910H. Crossed the border in 1984 changing ownership and registration no. 284 JNN. In 1993 again changing keeper and back to an age related plate no. of OBV 694H. Last owner since May 2000 ( a fan of only fool and horses) and assigning its private registration no. Of DEL907C (Del Boy) which is offered forsale with the car, the shadow was affectionately know as 'The Govenor'
Sadly the car hasn't been used since 1994 and is requiring some restoration but a well worthwhile project, 'The Govenor' has covered a mere 57, 177 miles from new and comes with a large history and mot file. In the history file there are lots of old photos of 'The Govenor' in its younger days, hopefully someone with return the car into the condition it once was. Just quickly looking through the history file shows expenditure from the last owner in excess of £5k.
The history file consists of build sheet and invoice from Crewe Rolls-Royce, a list of previous keepers and registration numbers, copies of every logbook from dvla which this service is no longer avalible due to data protection, full build sheet of the vehicle from Rolls-Royce with hand written notes adding a few extras, a history file of expenses to the sum of over 5k, lots of old mots, even has the newspaper advert where the last keeper purchased from including the bill of sale.
Sadly not running due to the time period laid-up and sadly we haven't got the time to spend on the vehicle to attempt to get running. We have added a battery to check the engine turns freely which it does but isn't sparking so at this point we have decided to spend no further time trying to get running.
As can be seen from the photos 'The Govenor' is going to require a fair restoration but with the service history and low millage is a well worthwhile project. Sold as a non running, does roll freely and tyres hold air for loading.
