I am looking for a new home for this extremely rare motorhome. I bought it to display at vintage camper meets around California, but a recent move has made storage difficult.
It is a ’69 Ford Econoline with a "Kamp King Koach Van A Home” (by McNamee Coach) camper conversion. Only a handful of these early Class C motorhomes were built and I am only aware of 2 survivors including this example. You will probably never find another, especially one preserved as well as this.

It features the patented "Snap & Nap" expanding rear bed, rear restroom, full kitchen, dinette that converts to another bed, and the over the cab "Master Bedroom". There are large picture windows on either side, so it stays light and bright. Loads of storage cabinet space. Also includes a full set of shop and owner's manuals.
This is a Southern California vehicle from new and still has its blue California plates with current registration. This van features original factory paintwork, and has a very solid body. It has never been restored. It is 100% complete and deserves to be shared with other vintage camper enthusiasts.
It is based on the 1 ton Econoline chassis with the 302 V8 and automatic. There are 4 new tires mounted, and is running well. The camper has had some leaky roof vents, and areas of the upper interior plywood have suffered some damage (floors are nice and solid). The interior is all original with no prior modifications to the cabinets or hardware. Original appliances too.
Background: The brains behind the company was Merle D McNamee. Merle is the 1992 RV Hall Of Fame inductee for his innovative ideas that shaped the recreational vehicle industry. He loved camping a realized that there was a better way to experience camping. This lead him to create the first slide in truck camper. It was a basic box style with a couple of cots for sleeping. As an inventor he developed some innovative ideas and processes. He introduced the foam sandwich fiberglass panels to RV manufacturing. In addition he developed jack to ease the loading and removing of campers.
