Description
This AJS 500cc single is the rare short-stroke Model 18 Statesman fitted with Norton (Roadholder) forks and wheels.
It was part of an order for 140 exported to South Africa in 1964 for the military there.
In 2004 it was brought back to the UK (import documentation available) and in 2012 registered in Ireland.
The military green has been overpainted in Black.
The bike has new tyres and battery, is complete and running and in excellent mechanical condition. It is perfectly usable as is but would benefit from some cosmetic work.
The speedo cable is broken so the mileage above is inaccurate.
