Presenting in Glacier white, the R26. R is unmistakable with its red sticker pack, carbon bonnet and gloss black styling that contrasts perfectly with the bright white paintwork.
INTERIOR
The figure hugging Sabelt seats offer supreme support without compromise, in excellent condition showing good shape and contour they proudly show the R26. R nomenclature stitched into the headrests.
Red stitching pulls the exterior red flashes into the interior with the colour scheme continuing to the race harnesses and huge optional red roll cage which dominates the rear interior space. AC brings welcome relief after that special stage to Silverstone, or the shops.
This particular model is number 13 of 230 units in the UK as shown by its interior plaque.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Megane RS R26. R pushes out 230 bhp from it’s 2. 0L turbocharged 16 valve, 4 cylinder engine giving a great punch when on the road or track. With a full service history comprising of 10 stamps and the most recent service in June 19 it is in excellent mechanical order.
Gearbox and clutch are easy to operate, with a tactile selection and engagement.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The gloss black alloys are in fine cosmetic order having been recently refurbished, they are wrapped in matching Yokohama rubber all round. The brake discs and pads display in good order with no lipping or pitting and perform admirably on test.
The key to all Renaultsport Megane variants has always been the way they handle, and this model is no exception. The combination of grip, steering feel and balance when cornering is staggering at this price point with the car rightly lauded upon launch.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new in 22/ 12/ 08, this R26. R comes complete with its original purchase invoice and rare presentation pack which includes a DVD video of the record breaking Nurburgring lap, a complimentary pass for one lap of the Nurburgring and the full hardback book which details the Megane R26. R from design to full production car.
The car was last serviced on 03/ 06/ 19 at 54, 296 miles and had its cambelt change at 49, 789 miles in 2015.
The full and original book pack including its stamped service book is present along with the spare key.
A private plate of R26RYY is currently fitted and included in the sale.
