Rebuilt onto a new galvanised chassis. Just 4 former keepers. Previously sold by us in 2017, to a careful lady owner.
We are delighted to present for sale this rather handsome Series 3, benefitting from a rebuild in recent years. As can be seen by the photos, the body work and paintwork is unusually nice and straight , and it is also good to see that the galvanised cappings have been preserved and retained during the rebuild. There's a handy rear towbar fitted, which, coupled with the diesel engine and new chassis would make this an ideal tow vehicle. Also fitted are a full set of period rims, with 750 tyres fitted, to give slightly improved gearing ratios.
The interior is very nicely appointed, and has not escaped attention during the rebuild - there are three very smart (and expensive) Exmoor Trim high back seats with belts. These give much improved comfort and driver space over standard. The rear houses the spare, along with a pair of bench seats, complete with seat belts for four additional passengers- giving seating for seven. There is a load mat to the rear floor too. Mats also extend to the front, making it look well sorted. The interior is, as a result, a clean and tidy place to be.
Externally, not only is this a solid Land Rover® underneath with that replacement chassis, but the bodywork and paint finish stand it far apart from many others on the market at present. The whole vehicle just looks "right" in our opinion, with a lovely vintage feel and no silly additions to detract from it - again, a a low owner example always wins out here, being less messed with over time.
Out on the road, this old girl runs very well, and was driven some distance in to us upon purchase with no identified issues - perhaps aided by just a few owners, and a recent rebuild. The diesel engine is a "fit" unit, starting easily and running without smoke or hassle. The previous keeper has really spoilt this car - she never planned to sell it and as such has treated it to a new clutch, new radiator, new fuel tank, starter motor and an alternator. The vehicle comes with a decent file of receipts for general maintenance and improvement.
In summary then, this is a very nicely presented, galvanised chassis Series 3, which is cosmetically smart to boot. It has come from a caring home, and now needs a new one, for the next 35 years of its life!
