THU 138 – 1954 Land Rover Series 1 – an absolute delight !
Here at Land Rover Centre, a question that we are frequently asked is:
“Where do you find your Land Rovers ?”
The answer is quite simple
“Most of them find us”
Obviously we still restore Series Land Rovers (as we have been doing for many decades), but because we have a reputation for selling only the very best Land Rovers, “the very best” Land Rovers, usually find us, and most will come to us without being offered for sale on the open market.
That was the case this evening, when we travelled to North Wales to collect “THU” – a delightful 1954 Series 1 86?.
The subject of a very sympathetic restoration from 2014 to 2016, This Land Rover is quite unusual as it still retains its original factory hard top.
Finished also in its original Grey colour exactly as it was when supplied new through Windmill & Lewis Limited (Bristol)
Another unusual feature is that during the late 60’s it was supplied with a brand new factory engine (not a reconditioned unit) and that engine still purrs today as it did when new.
All together making this a VERY usable Series 1 Land Rover.
