An incredibly rare opportunity to purchase what is arguably the prettiest built by Triumph. The Italia 2000.
Based upon the underpinnings and running gear of the TR3 - The Italia truly has * TR* in its genetic make-up but with a Giovanni Michelotti designed body build by Alfredo Vignale in Turin, Italy.
This particular vehicle was first shipped from the Triumph factory on the 02/ 02/ 1963 to Turin, Italy as a chassis for production as an Italia - Once completed it was then shipped to the USA as Italia #316 in 1964!
This is a "numbers matching" car supplied with a detailed history file relating to a comprehensive restoration carried out between 2007 and 2011 by a former keeper where a catalogue of photos were taken (even of small detailed areas of the mechanical work carried out) before being imported into the UK in 2015 by the last owner.
Since being imported the vehicle has been subjected to a large schedule of works carried out by marque specialists "Revington TR" which included a chassis re-alignment and various sympathetic and reversible suspension/ handling upgrades. In total from Revington TR there are receipts totalling over £13, 000GBP with the car only being used sparingly since the work was completed. Since the work was completed new Chrome wire wheels and tires (original wheels also supplied)
The chassis and body remain in incredible condition with ZERO corrosion issued and the underside of the body(floors) remaining in "body colour"
The trim work remains "as new" since the restoration was completed maintaining all of its original dials and features but for the addition of seatbelts.
The driving characteristics are just fantastic. As a result of the original restoration and the work ultimately carried out most recently this car is "pin-point" excellent to drive! The brakes, steering, gearbox and power unit are sharp and precise when called upon inspiring confidence in all areas even on those longer journeys!
