EXTERIOR
Finished in Campovolo Grey, which presents in near perfect condition, the lowered and widened stance of the Abarth’s re-designed coachwork looks purposeful. New aerodynamic features in the shape of an extended front bumper and spoiler, side skirts, rear wing and a diffuser surround for the trademark exhaust system give the Abarth a dynamic edge, instantly distinguishable from the cute and clean exterior of the standard Fiat 500.
The Abarth shield is displayed proudly, replacing the standard Fiat badges, as nod the the companies proud and prosperous racing heritage.
INTERIOR
The cabin is classic super mini with all controls and modern considerations clear and easy to hand. Open the door on either side and you are greeted by the Sabelt bucket seats, which are an incredible addition to the interior. Composed of a blend of lightweight technical fabric and alcantara, stitched and embroidered with contrast red thread, they provide huge support, wrapping the driver and passenger into place while large side bolsters protect against any lateral acceleration.
The dash plastics to doors and surrounds remain clean and mark free. The gearbox knob and shift indicator / boost gauge match the rest of the cabin as indicators of performance intent – excellent quality materials with right-up-to date tech. Boot area and rear bench are as new – the boot parcel shelf proudly bearing the finely stitched Competizione name.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Forced induction has become the norm amongst hot hatches of today and the operating bracket of the little 1. 4 is pleasingly broad. There is a sweet spot between 3k and 5k PRM where the car feels extremely willing, helped by a sport button that works to spool up more torque alongside a sharper throttle response, whereas the car is equally happy bumbling along in 4th gear for more leisurely progress.
The Magnetti Marelli ‘Record Monza’ exhaust is what really brings the 595 to life; ignition is met by a far deeper sound than expected which develops from a burble into a rousing series of rasps right through the revs.
The manual gearbox is positive and engaging whilst the clutch remains light and easy to use.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The optional 17? Supersport Matt Black Alloy Wheels sit unmarked and compliment Campovolo Grey paintwork of the car brilliantly. The 17? wheels are necessary to house the up-rated braking assembly, with larger discs all around and contrast yellow Brembo calipers at the front the Abarth, they provide the stopping power match this pocket rocket’s impressive straight line speed.
All four corners are wrapped in matching Michelin rubber with good, even depth across the tread pattern.
HISTORY FILE
This Competizione was supplied new on 15. 04/ 2016 by Research Garage, Warwickshire. It was then purchased by its second and current owner around 18 months later.
The car has a full main dealer history comprising of 4 stamps over the past 3 years, with the last service completed at 8820 miles on 09/ 10/ 2019
Both keys are present as is the book pack and owners manuals. The car is clear from finance and ready for the next owner to enjoy.
