We are delighted to present for sale this station wagon configuration series 3, in popular light pastel green colour scheme with limestone wheels.
Externally, there are lots of nice period features such as the vintage plates, rear grab handles, bonnet mounted spare, recent galvanised front bumper and rear side windows to give a station wagon feel. There are some modern additions - the larger 750 tyres which give a nice stance as well as additional gearing, defender wing mirrors for additional visibility and the pair of working rear spotlights which would be ideal for reversing, winter use or hitching a trailer in the dark!
The interior houses three front standard seats, with door cards and deluxe matting to the footwells, giving a premium feel. The rear houses a pair of bench seats to allow seating for seven, with a load mat to the floor and a door card on the rear door. This gives a nice premium and deluxe feel - the roof has previously been treated to a headliner too, giving additional sound deadening to the cabin.
Out on the road, the petrol engine is a sweet unit, with the added bonus of the weber carburettor giving a little extra pulling power. The 750 tyres reduce revs at speed and make cruising a more relaxed affair. All in all, it delivers an enhanced period driving experience with these modifications. It is nice to note how standard the engine bay is too - no nasty additions, and everything is where one would expect it to be. The Free Wheeling Hubs help to reduce noise and wear and aid fuel consumption.
