Introduction
Stunning example of the Alpina B10 3. 3 Manual. This August 2000 example has covered only 88, 000 miles with full service history. Finished in Estoril Blue Individual paintwork with full Black Montana leather, sports interior.
Most Alpina B10’s are autos, so its rare to find a manual example. This car drives and performs perfectly. The 3. 3 straight six engine is a delightful unit, very eager to rev, with a lovely engine note. This along with Alpina’s improvements to the suspension really make this a great drivers car. The overall package feels very refined and the performance Alpina get from the 3. 3 engine is superb. All the subtle Alpina touches on the inside and outside, all add up to a very special feeling car.
Specification
This example comes with a lovely specification, including PAS, ABS, Multi air bags, Traction control, Electric windows, Electric mirrors, Electric Glass sunroof, Heated front seats, Cruise control, Air conditioning, Xenon lights, Alpina 18inch alloys, Parking sensors, BMW computer, Multifunction steering wheel, Rain sensor wipers.
Bodywork / Interior / Wheels etc
The bodywork and paintwork is in Estorial Blue, possibly the best period colour on the E39. Its in excellent condition, the paintwork looks stunning.
The interior is finished in full Black leather. This is the higher quality, Montana leather. This is in lovely condition. There E39 interior is always a nice a place to be, a well designed interior. The Alpina interior is further enhanced, with extra Alpina touches, including Alpina logos, a plaque confirming this is number 118, Alpina coloured stripes on the floor mats, Alpina kick plates as you open the doors, Alpina coloured stitching on the steering wheel.
The 18inch Alpina alloys all look lovely, including the spare.
Engine / Gearbox
The 3. 3 straight six engine is a superb unit. Alpina take a 2. 8 engine, rebuild from new, making performance improvements including enlarged light weight pistons, improvements to the induction system, bespoke high quality exhaust system etc. The results are amazing, this is a lovely, free revving engine that feel much quicker in everyday use than the 2. 8 or event 3. 0 units, without loosing any of the refinement.
The 5 speed gearbox works so well with this engine. On this example, the gear changes feel reassuringly tight and precise.
History
This Alpina benefits from a full service history. We have all the original manuals in their original manual pack. We have the Alpina supplements and extra manuals, a fully stamped service book, a folder full of service receipts and Alpina documentation, all old MOT’s.
Summary
The BMW E39 is an excellent model. The E39 530 Sports are also very nice to drive. Then Alpina just take it a step further, it just feels like a better all round car. It features excellent performance, is finished in a superb colour scheme. A special, rare car, ready to be enjoyed.
