Welcome to the auction of my BMW e21 320/ 6 4 speed manual.
Unfortunately the time has come to sell this beauty, as I haven’t got enough space at the new house to keep her dry.
Where to start with this thing!?
I picked it up last year from a guy down south near London. It was a non runner and needed a whole new front end as the wings were rotten, the bonnet paint was all blistered, and the front valance and chrome bumper had been dented. Luckily it had been dry stored for a fair few years so the main body was solid and it hadn’t been doing many miles, as you can see from the MOT history.
I have spent a lot of time and money on it since in my ownership. It’s had brand new wings fitted and painted, a new front valance, and a really great condition new front chrome bumper (cost me loadssss!), these have all been painted along with the bonnet, so it’s had pretty much a full front end respray and only done around 100 miles since!
The rear arches didn’t need any work at all as they are solid, so as you can see from the pictures, the exterior looks very near perfect, for a 40 year old car!
Now onto the interior... the drivers seat is ripped as you can see, but other than that everything else is nice and neat, even has rear blinds on the parcel shelf that lift up covering the rear window!
I actually have some recaros I bought to fit in the car to replace the front seats, which I can chuck in with the sale too if wanted. I was gonna fit these in the coming weeks but thought I’d list while it’s original.
Engine and stuff... the brakes were gone when I got it and the carb wasn’t set up, I’ve had new brakes lines fitted so she stops, had all the distributor and timing set up, bushes and drop links, and given it a full service.
The car also has an alarm/ immobiliser.
The MOT runs out in October 2020
Right then the bad bits as there’s always some!
The car recently since someone messed with the carb hasn’t been running right, it’s overfueling and running rough, so I’d advise transport instead of driving it home as it likes to stall.
It’ll need someone who knows what they are doing to set the carb up again, failing that I was going to stick a Weber on it as they are a lot better.
There’s is a little surface rust in the boot, at the sides, but not in the wheel well. (None of which has gone through)
If I think of anymore bad bits I’ll edit listing and stick them up.
As you can see, she’s pretty damn clean and had been a pleasure to drive. There’s not many of these that haven’t rusted. So she’s a good one! Just needs a little time on the engine to finish her get her cruising properly again. Before the carb was messed with I actually drove it to Leeds for some filming in a movie, as they wanted the car in the shot! (So she’s clearly gonna be famous anyway when that gets released)
I’ve reflected the carb situation in the price as I would have put it up a little higher if it was still running sweet.
If for any reason I don’t get what she owes me I will probably find a place to keep her and put a Weber on myself for summer, as it’s an appreciating classic now and I can’t afford to let it go for nothing after the work I’ve put in.
All in all it’s a beautiful car and I’ll be sad to see it go, done a few trips in it and it turns heads everywhere, specially being a shark nose. The colour is just beautiful.
I’d like to see it go to home as an investment with someone who will do bits to it and enjoy driving it. These are only going up in value now and will be worth a small fortune soon.
