OTR 648S – 1977 Range Rover Classic 2 door – Great survivor !
As it celebrates 50 years of production, and also being voted “The most Iconic car of all time” – what better time to own a Range Rover 2 door classic ??
This particular example, is a “suffix “D” from 1977 and as such has the Bronze velour / Palomino trim which is far more durable than the earlier “Kit Kat” Palomino hard plastic trim.
Finished in original Arctic White, this Range Rover was built on 28th August 1077 and dispatched the following day to Wadham Stringers (Chichester). It was registered on 19. 09 1977 and passed to the first owner Graham Motors Limited – Chichester.
We can only presume, but it would appear that it was used as a company vehicle, as it remained in this same ownership for the next 18 years, during which time it clocked up a mere 22, 000 miles !
Current mileage of 69, 300 is genuine, and supported by a huge history file, including old MOT certificates, Original passport to service book, and DVLA ownership history.
When you think back to other cars of the 70’s (Ford Escort, Vauxhall Viva, Morris Marina – to name but a few) – you quickly realise how advanced the Range Rover was at the time.
The 3. 5 V8 engine, 4 wheel disc brakes and coil springs were ahead of their time, making the Range Rover a VERY usable classic – even in today’s modern traffic.
The most collectable Classic Range Rovers have always been the 2 door model and with prices of very early (Suffix A) and fully restored examples going through the roof – This 1977 survivor must be good value for money.

This particular example has obviously been well cared for all it’s life – This is backed up by it’s “Survivor” condition, and its history folder, which incidentally also shows that whilst it is not back on it’s original registration, it has also sported “200 KT” and “24 BNV” during its lifetime.
The Supercover folder and documents, original handbook and passport to service are all in pristine condition – making them a collectors item in themselves. Rarely do all the documents survive. The owners handbook even has a note inside the front cover showing the delivery mileage of “184 miles”

These mileages are all backed up by various documentation included in the history folder – so as you can see – It has been used regularly – but sparingly – resulting in the relatively low mileage that it displays today.
We think that a more original example, with such a history file would be difficult, if not impossible to find.
