Exterior: This must be the coolest colour for a Ford Thunderbird. This car has a very good paint and was repainted here in Sweden in 2015 (original colour Thunderbird Blue). All chrome pieces are in very good condition. In the pictures , it is wearing the hardtop and there is also a soft top (these were option) and this is in good condition as well.
Interior: Nice interior and the electric power seat is working in all directions. The leather seats or sofa is also in great condition.
Engine: Engine and gearbox are excellent in this car. It has great power and is fun to drive. Gearbox is shifting perfectly, and the car starts easily cold and warm. The generator and relay have just been replaced. The carburettor has been rebuilt and there is a new fuel pump.
History: This car was purchased new by CBS Studios and was given to Robert Lee as a retirement gift. It was sold new by Ford in Los Angeles and came to Sweden in 2014 just after a major restoration. It is now inspected, registered here in Sweden and ready to find its new home. Viewing by appointment only. 1955 was the first year for the “Babybird” and 16, 000 cars were produced. At the same time, Chevrolet produced 700 Corvettes. The Thunderbird was Ford’s answer to Chevrolet Corvette. Ford was the faster car during this time with a V8 engine while the Chevrolet Corvette only had a straight six.
