Beschreibung
Here is a charming Austin A30, the small family car of the 1950s. This particular model was the optional extra four-door version. Even though the Austin A30 was originally only available as a four-door saloon, very few four-door A30s have survived, making it an extremely rare car.
First registered: 24. 3. 1956
VIN Chassis No.: A54166627
This little car has had lots of money spent on it, and just some of the items are a new clutch kit (including a new flywheel), gearbox mounting bushes, brake master cylinder kit, oil seals, a brand new carburettor, a new starter motor, and to bring the car right into the twenty-first century it has now had electronic ignition and an alternator fitted for a better charging system.
The 803cc engine runs beautifully smooth, and the manual 4-speed gearbox is excellent. It's not often we describe the underneath of a car as being immaculate but this car's underside is in quite astounding condition. The car has been fitted with a stainless steel exhaust for added future-proofing.
The deep glossy black paintwork and excellent chrome trim, plus its quirky (and perfectly functional) semaphore indicators give a real sense of character to the car, although for today's traffic the car has also been fitted with modern-style indicators below the bumpers.
The wonderfully soothing green interior of the car has been extensively refurbished and is now in outstanding condition, and really adds to the charming 1950s feel of the car. A real timewarp example.
The car is now ready for viewing, so if you would like to arrange an appointment to view or book a test drive please get in touch at Craner Classic Cars, The Gate House, Nottingham.
