1986 vw westfalia joker 1. 6 turbo diesel lhd
nelly has been travelling the uk roads since august 2004 having been brought over from germany by a former owner. She was subsequently sold to her previous owner who enjoyed using her for family trips and holidays for over 12 years.
during that time she had been well looked after and maintained, having many new parts fitted to keep her in great condition (previous maintenance schedules included an off the shelf reconditioned engine back in 2011 with receipts to prove). overall. The engine and gearbox are both sharp and responsive. She pulls strong and has recently been fitted with a brand new turbo which helps her along the road nicely.
the engine has just received a major service with replacement cam belt, pulley, new oil & oil/ air filters, alternator belt and auxiliary battery amongst many other new mechanical parts ready for the new owner to enjoy.
nelly has undergone an extensive professional body restoration throughout last year which included many new and original parts. Although extensive, she managed to retain all of her original doors and panels. Her underside surfaces and cavities have been completely cleaned and underbody waxed with dinitrol wax (a german oem product) to help protect her for years to come. She received a clean bill of health from the mot test station in april (the mot tester said that she was one of the nicest ones he's seen in a long time)!

nelly has been refinished in her original timeless pastel white exterior and westfalia side decals along with her original westfalia van dyke brown/ blue upholstery. The additional cool interior surf/ skater stickers were kept as a nod to her previous owners who has fond memories of their travels and kids growing up with her. A new top quality german pop top tent was installed and as you can see from her images fits like a glove with no creases and as good as a westfalia factory fitment would have been.
all of her interior has been very well preserved over her 34 yrs and is still fitted with all of the original accessory features of a westfalia joker. She has her original two front swivel seat captains chairs which creates a great roomy interior layout for when it gets a bit chilly on the campsite. All upholstery fittings have been professionally cleaned ready for the new owner so she's fresh and ready to camp.
the original built in battery charger still works great. The sound system is bluetooth enabled with a remote so great for your favourite playlists and also allows your phone to be hands free on a long journey.
all appliances have been serviced and tested. The original 2 burner stove is very responsive and burns a sharp clean blue flame. The fresh water tap delivers a good pressure of water when required and the original 3 way fridge has undergone a full service to ensure all 3 power supplies work as intended. The fridge is now again capable of freezing ice cubes for a nice g&t or beer without any trouble at all. The gas storage cylinder has also been restored to original specification with all brass fittings cleaned, inspected and tested.
to summarise, nelly has received a complete top to bottom professional overhaul bringing her back to original westfalia specification. She really is a stunning example that wouldn't look out of place at any vw show and shine line up. Drive her, camp her, show her. Its up to you. She is ready to deliver another 34+ years of fun in the sun!
