The 7th MG PB built, and the official demonstrator for University Motors, it was also the first PB to be sold by University Motors! MG4251 was last offered to the open market 20 years ago, that time offered by Barry Walker MG. It was described by him as being one of the most original cars’ he had the pleasure of selling. “Come-on, they simply don’t come this good, very often” he stated.

This still rings true 20 years later. The sales advert from BW in 2000 claiming tip-top mechanical re-build. Despite this in 2006 our client instructed Tom Dark Engineering to perform an engine rebuild, using modern steel crank and rods. With the thought of later supercharging the car, which hasn’t been done yet! It is known that a has previously had a side-mounted blower.

Since then MG4251 has been enjoyed without fault on the open road regularly, often amusing the security gate when arriving at work without the relevant pass, and has been part of a modest MG collection. This includes the Bellevue special, J2, and a rather nice (PB) Q Type Doreen Evens Single seater replica, which I also currently offering for sale.

I have been looking after our client car collection for around 9 years, and out of all his cars, this is one that has been ring-fenced as a keeper, being his first pre-war MG. However, with the recent acquisition, of the gorgeous patinaed supercharged PA. MG425 has been placed on the transfer list, this provides a real opportunity for someone else to enjoy this very early PB. With matching number and largely original coachwork, dashboard etc. During her last complete restoration, she was returned to the original factory colour combination according to build records. Full compliment of wet weather equipment is present.

The MG PB is one of those must-have MG's and a golden ticket to some stunning events like the MM which is to be held on the 22nd - 25th October 2020!

As always viewing is by appointment only at our showroom, on the Foxfield’s estate. Which is nestled on the banks of the idyllic River Ribble, rolling hills of the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. A stone’s throw from Stonyhurst college, the seat of international learning since 1593. Famed for the setting of JRR Tolkien's trilogy written in 1937 whitest visiting his children, who were at school there.
