Volvo PV 544 rally car, year 1960. Chassis number 318292, engine number 0025303. Colour crème white combined with a black / cognac colour rally interior. This Volvo PV544 was imported to the Netherlands in 1996. In the year 2003 the car was fully restored, overhauled and rally prepared to participate in the 2006 Amsterdam – Beijing Rally. The restoration and the preparation were carried out on the highest possible level of perfection. Costs nor effort were spared, and the work was done by a renowned specialist company. Now, over a decade later, the car is still in excellent condition inside and out. Since the Amsterdam Beijing rally the owner has participated in other historic rally events regularly. Over the years the car was perfectly and professionally serviced and kept up to date.
This rugged Volvo PV544 features a Volvo B20 four cylinder engine fitted with twin S. U. carburettors, a four speed manual gearbox with overdrive, Minilite alloy wheels, a Webasto sliding / folding roof, a Simons sports exhaust, an aluminium petrol tank, a Sparco sports steering wheel, a full roll cage, 4-point safety harnesses, VDO dash board gauges, a special wiring loom, spot-lamps at the front, twin wide-beam back-up lamps, two spare wheels, special leather seats and an original Volvo Sunvisor. Furthermore, all the rally instruments which you see in the photos are included. This Volvo is a top notch (long distance) rally car and it comes complete with a FIVA identity card.
