VW Beetle Deluxe, 1968-Original UK RHD. Restored to an excellent standard with the ever popular Cal look with some very nice modifications and extras. The Biege paintwork and bodywork are in excellent shape. The stainless bumpers with the optional towels rails present as new. All glass is scratch free and has the optional pop out rear quarter lites. The stainless roof rack and surfboard originally were not with the car but now they are and really add to the California look. Slightly lowered (not slammed) on adjustable beam. The BRM alloys are a recent new addition and are shod with almost new radials. The front and rear wings and lights were sourced as genuine NOS articles for that fabulous pre 67 look.
The interior again is a bit special and is as new. Finished in Tan leather, with new carpeting , new head lining etc it really is a nice place to be . The rear parcel shelf which often are tatty is a custom made speaker shelf with VW chrome speaker covers, very neat ! There is the addition of a period rev counter with shift light and Empi gear lever. Stainless trim finishes off the door cards very nicely. Though subtle this transformation to the interior is amazing.
The engine is now 1641 cc and is running twin downdraft carbs. Electronic ignition has been fitted. Performance hi vol oil pump, hi output alternator conversion etc etc. The whole engine and engine tinware has been detailed and has powder coated tinware to match the car. On the road the beets is super reliable , nippy and drives very well.
The history file has many old Mot s going right back and many many receipts and photos. The invoice for major restoration work completed in 2007 by a Beetle specialist states £8700 on that date and it shows. There are a great many invoices in the file totalling 1000s. Mostly from VW specialist companies. It is a comprehensive rebuild and the cost of build far exceeds the price of the car. This will not disappoint. Priced very realistically, transport provided at cost if required.
