1983 TVR Tasmin S1 280i in Crystal green with green half leather. 85, 000 miles. PAS. Mostly original paint in excellent condition. Not a rebuilt example, but last two owners span some 29 years and it has been kept immaculate.
Options from new were electric windows, remote mirrors, 5 speed, leather interior. The price new was circa 14. 5k which in early 80s was not a cheap car.
New 16’’ BBS style split rims with Goodyear tyres.
GAZ adjustable shocks and uprated springs.
Repainted front bumper.
Remodelled rear valance and tail pipes( S1 original style). Very rare NOS product obtained as anTVR employee. This rear valance was on the original drawings when designed for Lotus but they were never fitted from factory. This is a rare addition.
New side light/ indicators
New headlamps.
New hood and hood bag. New Door seals. Seats and door cards trimmed by ex TVR people ( half leather). New Panasonic radio/ CD. New floor mats.
New bonnet gas struts. New water pump, thermostat and hoses.
Belts, plugs, Distributor cap and rotor arm, ignition coil and leads, ballast resistor. K&N filter. Silicon induction hose. New fuel filter.
Serviced including gearbox and diff oil change.
New MOT passed with not a single advisory. The condition of this TVR is one of the best in the UK. Very rare indeed now especially in this condition .
Last owner who was a true TVR man has a claim to fame as was responsible for this colour of Chrystal Green being part of the TVR palette.
The standard Ford 2. 8 injected v6 pulls like a train and sits in an immaculate show standard engine bay. The 5 speed T9 gearbox is precise. For a true rare classic that is in immaculate condition with no TVR gremlins. That has excellent and interesting history for the price of a clapped out Capri its price can only go skyward if that’s your thing. If you want a convertible that is different and immaculate then this could be up your street !
