HERE is a cute little 1980 Mini van 998cc which drives well and looks the part. She has an MoT until June 2021 although, strictly speaking, she did not need one this time around as she was already 40-years-old in April of this year. Clearly she has been used as a promotional vehicle but do not ring the number on the van or else who will end up hiring a boat as opposed to buying the van! Her MoT tells us that she meets
structural requirements and body and paint-wise she is not bad at all. a A few bits and pieces here and there and she will look a lot better with some "Mini strip" fixing along her bottom rails from front to back. There is a weird looking "mark" on the passenger door which I deduce to be the outline left when some signage was removed - perhaps prior to her landing a job with a boat yard?
Quite a bit of history in her file and plenty of MoTs showing gentle use mileage-wise over the past few years. She has a small glass sunroof fitted.
All in all, a nice little runaround/ advertising vehicle and far from expensive at my price once you are made aware of their values these days!
Please bear in mind that she is 40-years-old and not a two-year-old BMW. She will have had work to varying degrees and will doubtless need regular upkeep in the future. My classics are to be viewed as collectors' items as opposed to vehicles for heavy use. They need to be treated with love and given oodles of tlc. Things go wrong. That goes with the territory once you are in the world of classic cars.
