We are delighted to present for sale this handsome Series 2a, presented in popular Marine Blue colour scheme with Limestone wheels and canvas.
Externally, this vehicle has all the hallmarks of a nice ‘stock’ 2a – the bonnet mounted spare, wing-top mounted mirrors, vintage numberplates, rear grabhandles and recent bumper. The bodywork is of a spray type finish, and is in good order throughout, which is also pleasing to see. All in all, we really think this is a good looking truck – and gains admiring glances and waves wherever you go.
The interior houses a set of deluxe seats to the front, with deluxe matting to the footwells. There is a round Clayton type heater in the passenger footwell which also gives front windscreen demist, handy for those colder days. It is nice to see both the stock steering wheel and the fly-screens for the vents still survive too. The rear is unfitted with the exception of a load mat to the floor area – although bench seats could be fitted for £295 to make this a seven seater vehicle including the driver.
Out on the road, this old girl drives just as she should – the engine is whisper quiet, and it pulls keenly. The free wheeling hubs afford some extra fuel economy, along with reduced wear to the front axle. The vehicle also sits on a set of cross-climate tyres, which give good on road ability. Coupling all this together gives a pleasing period driving experience.
In summary, if you are looking for a standard 2a that you can use for work or play, then this could be for you. With the added bonus of tax and MOT exemption and classic insurance, it should prove cheap to run whilst being a strong investment for the future.
