Opis
I purchased this Alfasud in Cape Town, South Africa in 2008 and brought with me to the UK when I moved here in 2014. It is a four door ti (the two door body-shell was not used in South African manufactured Alfasuds) and originally would have had a 1200cc engine. This has a 1500cc engine with twin 36 Weber carbs.
This car was restored in approximately 2005 and has driven only a few thousand km since then (I have only driven 15000km/ 9000 miles in the 12 years I have owned it) and has been garaged at all times since it was restored. However the paintwork has some micro-blistering which appeared about a year after I brought it to the UK. There are small rust spots at the front left and right corners of the bonnet but no other rust in the normal places where these cars rust (sills, floor, A pillars, battery tray etc.)
In all other respects this is a lovely example of the series 1 Alfasud. It runs beautifully, starts first time, idles smoothly and has just been serviced at which time it had a set of refurbished front brake calipers fitted, 4 new tyres fitted, all filters replaced, brake system flushed, oil changed and both carbs serviced and balanced. The gearbox has a slight whine in 5th gear when warm but has done that since I've owned it.
The interior is in lovely condition and while the colour of the vinyl upholstery is not original it is in keeping with the period of the car. The dashboard has no cracks and all gauges work except the clock (which would be simple to get working again).
I can email more photographs and answer any questions you may have.
