Ex Gary Carswell with lots of history, we bought this new in Canada. And Gary won the Senior M. G. P. in 1997. Only been used recently in parade laps and had a fully refreshed engine fitted prior to 2017 Classic TT parade lap, not been run since.
Current condition
This is fitted with a fully refreshed Kevin Stephens motor and was last used in the 2017 Classic TT parade lap with Lesley Duncan riding. Covered 38 miles.
History and Specification
This machine was bought new from Gary Goodfellow in Canada in 1996 and was then fitted with Kawasaki full race kit by Chris Meyhew who looked after all TCR motors. Full Olhins suspension was fitted along with race bodywork and alloy tank. AP calipers, discs and Mag wheels completed the work. The machine was refurbished in 2006 and 2015 and has only been used in parades.
Local legend Gary Carswell rode it throughout 1996-98 on various tracks. He came 5th in the 1996 Senior M. G. P. and in 1997 won the Senior M. G. P. with a lap record of 117. 90mph also in 1998 Gary won the I. O. M. Championship race series.
Kiwi Blair Degerholm, Mark Parrett and local rider Juan Kinnish rode this alongside the second Wilson & Collins 750 from 1999 to 2001. Another local competitor Nigel Beattie contested the 2001 I. O. M. Championship gaining several top 3 positions.
2007 American 5 times Daytona winner and 1993 WSB Champion Scott Russell rode it in the “Festival of Speed” event at Goodwood and in 2014 at Mallory Park World Kawasaki day Chris Walker, Shane Byrne, James Ellison and Stuart Easton each paraded it.
In 2015 Gary Carswell riding his own bike sadly lost his life in an accident at Jurby Motordrome.
From 2012 to 2017 Tony Duncan, Hurley Wilvert, Dave Kennington and Lesley Duncan have all completed parade laps at Classic TT
