A 1982 Husqvarna 500 CR factory Prototype £10, 000 - 12, 000
Purchased by the present owner in February 2013 as a wreck From a motorcycle salvage company in California
Extensive research has shown that the bike is a works prototype for the new 1983 CR 500 model
It was built for factory rider Billy Grossi to ride in 1982 before the factory produced the bikes available for 1983
It still retained the correct silver colour used in 1982
For 1983 they were white with yellow graphics
This is a pre-production prototype as stamped on the frame and is the only one made
Grossi arranged for a six speed gearbox to be fitted together with an 18” rear wheel
The bike has been restored completely and the engine was rebuilt in 2013 with new piston, seals and gaskets
The original gearbox internals are now also fitted
It now has the correct period Trelleborg tyres as originally fitted by the Husqvarna factory
The bike is in perfect condition
