Description
1980 Husqvarna WR390 in black. I bought this bike in early 2021 as a small project that just needed some finishing touches, with a view to using it for some classic enduro or motocross. Unfortunately, other commitments and time-constraints meant that I never really got started and it has sat in the garage ever since, so after 5 years it’s time to accept reality and put it up for sale.
The bike was running when I bought it but is now a non-runner as it is blowing from the bottom of the barrel, I think it’s likely to need the barrel taking off and the gasket replacing. There is also an oil leak from the clutch casing, again I think a new gasket is likely required.
Other than being a non-runner, the bike is in good condition for a 46 year-old off-roader. The tank, seat, plastics and frame were restored by the previous owner and seem to have been done well. I replaced the clutch and front brake cables, the chain slipper cover, the clutch hub, and rear shocks, with all receipts present. The bike is UK registered and comes with a V5C, as well as the registration confirmation letter from the DVLA and a dating certificate from HVA Factory.
These bikes are rare now and don’t seem to come up for sale too often. I think this bike would be a fairly easy project for someone wanting to do so some classic off-roading or could be a good base for a top condition collector to do a full nut and bolt restoration.
