The phrase ‘time warp’ has always been a slightly odd way of describing an unrestored car in excellent condition (don’t get us started on ‘unmolested’), so we shall describe this 1978 Datsun 120Y Coupé more simply as a fantastic, original, low mileage example.
The car has covered just 37, 200 miles to date, supported by numerous MOT certificates and stacks of invoices for diligent servicing throughout the car’s life. The car has clearly been cherished by previous owners, of which there have been few for a car of this age - one custodian owned the car from 1979 to 2005.
One of roughly 30 examples still on the road today, the car presents in superb condition as the photographs show. Having been thoroughly maintained throughout its pampered life the car is a very special example of a lesser seen Japanese classic - viewing is thoroughly recommended.
