For over 20 years we have successfully supplied left hand drive 911, and the reasons remain as valid today as they were 2 decades ago. Essentially, you can buy a better example for your money. Getting used to left hand drive is easier and more sensible than getting used to lesser quality. In fact they can be easier to drive too, even my Mum used to drive them.
This one underlines that notion. It's actually what we term as a 'backdate', but it only just qualifies. It was delivered in November 1973 to the U. S as a '74 model and now has the appearance of a mid '73 911, just a few months earlier.
There are 'backdates and backdates', just as true quality varies from tarted up rubbish to wonderful. This one is, in our view, in great shape, and the works carried out have been done very professionally by an expert. It's had circa £25, 000 spent on the changes to the body, another £20, 000 spent on the engine and transmission, and then lots of 'incidentals' that add up both financially and in practice that make this the quality driving 911 that you see here.
Immaculate in its Signal orange, black leather sports seats, 15" original correct Fuchs wheels and SSI exhaust to mention a few highlights. In the rear you will find a well built 2. 7, magnesium cased engine (we believe numbers matching) that gives great performance and a sweet sound.
A big benefit in our eyes, it's a better example than the budget would provide if applied to earlier cars, and a better performer too.
Proven? Oh yes, this beauty has covered about 10, 000 miles in recent years touring across Europe......
We rate it as a condition grade 4, very strong cosmetically, and a great driver.
