Description

1979 Porsche 911 SC – Matching Numbers – Rare Factory Non-Sunroof

A beautifully presented and extensively maintained matching-numbers 1979 Porsche 911 SC finished in Silver Metallic with Petrol Blue bonnet and ducktail, paying tribute to its original factory colour of Petrol Blue Metallic. The interior features black vinyl with Recaro SR3 seats trimmed in bespoke MacLean tartan inserts, inspired by the car's original specification.
The price you ask? this is relative to the condition and amount of money spent in the last 24 month. €17, 000 on engine rebuild an general upkeep with a full copy of all invoices.
Supplied new by Mitsuwa, Porsche's authorised Japanese dealer, in May 1979, the car remained in Japan until imported to Ireland in 2016 with a Japanese auction grade of 4B and 91, 000 km. the previous purchaser purchased it in 2019. I purchased it in June 2024. Having spent its life in Japan, the underbody is exceptionally clean and free from the corrosion commonly found on unrestored European examples.

Powered by its original matching-numbers 3. 0-litre air-cooled flat-six producing 180 hp, paired with a five-speed 915 manual gearbox. The odometer shows 124, 000 km (approx. 77, 000 miles) from new and has never been converted to miles.

Significant mechanical investment includes a professionally rebuilt 915 gearbox with new synchros, dog teeth, bearings and bushings, new clutch, hydraulic chain tensioner upgrade, injector seals, intake boot, warm-up regulator, fuel lines, fuel pump, ignition components, CV boots, rebuilt brake calipers, new pads, regular valve adjustments and annual servicing by respected Porsche specialist Mr Gribbin. In 2026 the engine was removed following a broken cam follower; the damaged component and rocker cover gaskets were replaced with no further engine damage found. The car has minimal oil consumption between services.

Upgrades include SSI stainless heat exchangers, custom GT3 stainless exhaust with titanium twin-centre tips, forged Fuchs wheels (16x7/ 16x8) with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres (2025), Momo Prototipo steering wheel, Blaupunkt Madrid Bluetooth stereo, aluminium footrest boards and a short-shift kit.

The car has completed over 5, 000 reliable touring miles under my ownership.

A well-sorted, rare factory non-sunroof 911 SC that has been driven, maintained and improved regardless of cost. Ready to be enjoyed immediately.

Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, Bluetooth, Folding rear seats, 2 Keys

if your looking to turn heads and drive a fantastic classic car then this ones for you.
