The SLC was introduced on October of 1971 as a four-seat, two-door coupe version of the open top SL roadster. Unlike its sibling, the SLC provided more sophisticated exposure to the elements with ample cabin illumination from the sliding sunroof and vast pilarless side window theatre enveloped in chrome and side sills. The longer by 360 mm elegant body was powered by the M116 3. 5lt V8 200 bhp motor carried over from the w111 3. 5. Through its 10 year production, the SLC shared numerous upgrades with the open top SL. However, the buyer of an SLC would seek to satisfy a more refined palette of automotive taste.
The SLC offered here was ordered in 1972 in most remarkable shade of Stone Pine Green metallic over Bamboo leather interior with a series of options to be delivered a year later to its first owner in Munich Germany. Three decades later the SLC was sourced by a collector in Zurich who decided to store it in the drier climate of Athens. In 2010 he conducted a full cosmetic restoration in factory original colour and trim codes as well as an extensive recommissioning of the engine, transmission, drivetrain, suspension, steering and electrics. Soon after, FIVA certified its authenticity awarding an A3 category classification. It is now offered freshly serviced with exceptional cosmetics throughout.
