1972 Mercedes 350SLC Coupe, lefthand drive, original blue colour, original bodywork, chassis, and engine, all without rust and running. The original cream interior is excellent and beautiful, with a sunroof and a working original Becker Mexico casset radio which alone is worth over a thousand GB pounds. There is no work to be done except servicing and polishing to make it look like new. It is in this great condition because its been used sparingly and always kept indoors since 29th June 2001 when purchased it. It had been imported into the UK from France by the previous owner.
The current mileage of eighty thousand kilometres is pretty good, and is reflected in the outstanding condition of the carI have owned and loved several classic cars in the last 30plus years. They include a Saab 96, Saab 900 turbo, Citroën DS, two G Wagens, Peugeot 505, Peugeot coupe, and a red Fiat Coupe!
However this Mercedes Coupe LHD has been the only one I have kept for 25 years. The black Citroen DS was also a LDH which I purchased and drove directly from Paris to London in 1997.
This car needs an enthusiastic person to keep and look after it well in the same way I have done for 25 years, because as an admirer once told me at a shopping car park, " this beautiful car belongs to all of us". It is therefore a responsibility that I now pass on to the next person to keep her well on behalf of all of us. But the new owner perhaps from France, where she came from, or Germany or Belgium etc(where these cars are popular and more appreciated) will have to get used to a lot of on-lookers and admirers when they drive her out of the garage.
