This is a very rare bike and I am sure there will be very few surviving in this fantastic original condition.
For those people not familiar with this bike, the 700cc Nighthawk was built especially for the US market when Harley Davidson succeeded in lobbying the government to raise the import duty on Japanese bikes. The Japanese bikes were so popular that they threatened the very existence of Harley Davidson. Honda responded by reducing the 750cc motor to 700cc with no loss of performance.
The 700cc Nighthawk 's' was ahead of it's time and illustrates why Harley could not compete.

With a top speed approaching 150mph, standing quarter mile in 12. 35 secs and 0-60mph in 3. 6 seconds it is no surprise that Harley found it difficult to compete.
This Nighthawk was imported from the USA 23 years ago by Fastline motorcycles in Preston with 10, 000 miles on the clock. I have all the MOTs since then which confirm the present day mileage of 25, 800. Everything works as it should and it is in truly exceptional condition for an unrestored 36 year old bike.
