Description
PKD 690S was manufactured in 1977 and exported to North America. The GL1000 came to the UK and was first registered on the 1st of July 1995. From 2004 the Bike was maintained by Classic Bikes Ltd in Market Drayton in Shropshire for nearly 20 years. In 2021, due to the declining health of the former keeper Classic Bikes bought the Honda along with their other bike, a Suzuki GT380.
Upon preparing it for marketing, the fuel system was cleaned including the tank, the carbs were overhauled, the engine oil and filter were replaced, and new cam belts were fitted. The brakes were fully refreshed with new pipes and seals. Electrically, all the wiring and functions were checked, and a new Exide sealed battery was fitted. The wheels were rebuilt and wrapped in fresh Bridgestone BT46 tyres with new tubes. The body work was given a new lease of life, fully resprayed in its factory correct black with all the correct decals re-instated. Many of the fittings have been refinished with powder coating or zinc plating.
Since purchasing the bike in 2022, the bike has been with a large collection of classic cars and classic motorcycles and comes to us in a multiple part exchange deal. The presentation of the Bike is truly top-quality, boasting an excellent shine from the metalwork and deep finish from the panels. This Honda Goldwing 100 will be sure to take pride of place in another collection or on weekend rides out in the summer months.
