1959 Austin-Healey Sprite Mk1 - Extensive Restoration with New Body Shell
Launched in May 1958 to considerable acclaim, the characterful Austin-Healey Sprite proved a winning formula and gave many enthusiasts their first taste of sports car motoring. Ease of maintenance and frugal fuel consumption were among the endearing characteristics.
Few cars have ever offered such fun in a small, charismatic package so it is easy to understand their lasting appeal.
First registered in Devon in April 1959 she spent some years laid up before undergoing professional restoration to a very high standard in recent years.
Finished, as original in Nevada Beige with leather faced seats in red and a tailored carpet set, the car has a red mohair soft top and tonneau cover and also includes a Pride & Clarke hardtop to original design.
Sitting on new chrome wire wheels, the car has an excellent mechanical specification which includes:

Stage 2-cylinder head

Kenlowe cooling fan and an alternator
The gearbox has been fully rebuilt as had the rear axle which is fitted with a 3. 9:1 ratio

Disc front brakes
She has refurbished original steering wheel fitted and correct horn push.
The car retains its original and distinctive Devon registration number 500 BUO
There is a chrome luggage rack and everything on the car is either new or fully reconditioned.
The car comes with a Heritage Sheet, maintenance manual, and a number of bills, many of which date back to the early 1970s.
