This is the sale of 1934 Daimler light 15 reg VXS 353. This was a project started in 2016 but as we have just retired we are down sizing and looking to move, we have no time, space or health to complete it.
The chassis has been stripped and repainted, the brake system totally rebuilt, with new shoes. All the brake system works well.
The car has 6 overhauled wire wheels with new tyres. The three inbuilt jacks work well.
The body has been stripped back to bear metal and new panels installed. The wooden frame has had some new replacement sections installed. The complete car has been painted with coach paint.
The interior wood has been repaired and re polished professional. The time clock, is a mechanical clock, it has been cleaned and overhauled by a clock maker. The only gauge that is not operating is the dual water temp / petrol level. The original liquids used in the capillaries are not allowed any more, so I planed to keep the existing gauge in the dashboard, and installed electric gauges for water temp and petrol in the glove box in front of the street in wheel.
A new Autosparks wiring loom has been installed, all electrical equipment works, lights, horn, wipers, indicators. Etc.
The rear glass has been removed, but is in good condition ready for reinstatement. My wife planned to re upholster the interior, unfortunately, due to health issues with her hands has not completed it. However all the seats have been stripped, restrung, taped, calico and ready for final covering. The drivers seat and the rear seat have been completed. All of the original interior trim panels are with the car so can be used as templates. The head lining requires replacement.
The floors have been replaced, new rubber membrane, rubber backed under lay and black auto carpet has been installed.
The engine was originally in a poor condition. The block has been rebored, sleeved and new +60 pistons fitted. The head and block have been skimmed flat. The carburitor has been professional rebuilt. The engine electrical equipment appears to work. The engine has just been reassembled but has not been run.
The preselect gearbox and rear axel, appear to be in working order, but have not been road tested.
We believe that all the parts are present for a complete car. It just needs some enthusiast to finish it.
