1959 Rover 80 saloon. First registered 26. 10. 1959 with 62360 miles showing believed to be correct. Sporting the very robust and popular 4 cylinder 2286 cc engine , also used in Landrovers which run smoothly . It’s in strong mostly original honest condition with only 3 owners from new as the present V5c confirms. Finished in an appealing two tone paint scheme the contrasting greys showing its classic lines perfectly. Presented well , it is by no means concourse and leaves room for sensible cosmetic upgrades , however it’s originality is admired wherever it goes. She comes with full period documentation and history . The new owner will enjoy past period tax discs related to the car, MOT, s ( see later note) , current and past bills for work done and workshop and owners manuals .
This example of the Aunty Rover has recently undergone sympathetic and sensitive recommissioning and its a credit to the workmanship that it now retains an original patina both inside and out.
The chrome brightwork is in very good condition being sound solid and presentable. It’s chips and age marks on the body are commensurate with its age and only add to its genuine 60 years of motoring life. A true survivor which every discerning classic car enthusiast would be proud to own.
Amongst recent maintenance items it has had a full service , including points plugs , distributer , coil, starter motor, top and bottom hoses, rotor arm condenser etc. A full fluid renewal including oil change and antifreeze. Further work includes a new radiator and front coil springs and rear suspension shock absorbers. It also benefits from new tyres and tubes and the addition of period chrome beauty rings.
So this Rover represents excellent value for money and is a marque in the classic car world that is only going up in value .
