EQUIPMENT
Double cradle pipe frame, contoured seat, upswept muffler, speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, ignition switch, turn signal switch, headlight switch, dimmer switch, neutral indicator, horn, engine kill switch, rear view mirrors, rear footrests, fuel valve, steering lock, helmet holder.
EXTERIOR
Finished in Special Silver Metallic this iconic and collectable Street Scrambler looks stunning. The paint work has a gorgeous metallic fleck and extends to the fuel tank, side covers, headlight shell and mudguards. The decals are correct and again pristine and even the chain guard information sticker and helmet holder stickers are attached. The material to the seat is original and in remarkable condition with an unbroken pillion strap and the Honda logo in white still vibrant. The double cradle pipe frame has a hardened black gloss finish with no damage and the frame number is just visible. The correct Stanley headlamp and rear lens remains fitted and all lighting and instrumentation is operational. Wonderful in every respect.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
An all alloy 4-stroke single cylinder OHC 2 valve engine of 122cc produces 12hp at 7900rpm and performs with typical Honda precision. The last service invoice by St Neots Motorcycle Company was at 7, 961 miles and the indicated mileage is now 9012. This engine number is correct and clearly visible. The 5-speed transmission operates perfectly with a light clutch action. Great fun and very useable.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory spoked wheels still display a mirror chrome finish with correctly sized 2. 75-21 front and 3. 25-18 rear tyres with ample tread are fitted. Drum brakes front and rear provide adequate braking.
HISTORY FILE
First registered on the 1st March 1975 this rare UK bike is one of Honda’s earliest trial bikes and represents an iconic piece of Honda history. The current custodian, Mr Chris Weymouth owned such a motorcycle in 1974 and after just two weeks of ownership was forced to sell it after disapproving parents did not agree with the choice of transport! Despite this and fast forward 39 years to 2013, Chris managed to acquire another! The hunt was exhausting with so few ever being available so when this example was offered he had to buy it, it was just like his one in 1974 and in perfect condition. Lack of use and the itch firmly scratched now means the bike is available for the next lucky custodian. Offered with a collection of MOT certificates, invoices. Three keys with one operating both the ignition and steering lock.
