GOOD HOME WANTED FOR PEUGEOT 309 LOOK
Registered on 26 September 1990 at the Peugeot dealer at Old Woking in Surrey, this stunning Peugeot 309 1294cc "Look" has covered just 25, 800 from new and is in superb original condition throughout.
I love classic cars from the 80's and 90's - usually the 'bread and butter' models rather than the sporty hot hatches. However I need to slim down my fleet hence the reluctant sale of my Peugeot 309 Look.
I believe the car has been garaged from new as the seat trim and plastics are all in excellent condition. I cannot find any rust on the car - it is remarkable. There are a few dinks here and there and a few marks in the paint - but overall she is in superb condition throughout.
The 309 features manual choke with carburettor (which all works perfectly), manual (keep fit!) winding windows, no power steering, no ABS brakes (but they are servo assisted), no central locking - so there is very little if anything to go wrong.
It has the factory fitted glass pop up sunroof (which does not leak), the original White Peugeot wheeltrims (one has minor kerb scuffs), 5 seatbelts, and all of the standard fitments of the "Look" special edition, including the lovely comfy grey check seats with blue piping and the twin pinstripes along the sides, the rear boot spoiler and the 'Look' badging. The Phillips radio cassette with 4 speakers is in good working order and I have the original radio security code too. The 309 also has its original dealer fitted (Peugeot Talbot) front and rear number plates and the dealer sticker in the rear window.
I stored the 309 in my parents garage over the winter but have been using the car regularly over the last 2 months and she is a pleasure to drive, starting easily with choke in the mornings and pulling smoothly through all 5 gears.
I took the car for its MOT this week and it has failed on the rear brakes as a wheel cylinder is leaking. I have a pair of new wheel cylinders on order and the wheel cylinders and new brake shoes will be fitted next week. The 309 will then have a full NEW MOT which will run until 20 July 2022.
There were no other advisories on the MOT, just the rear brakes.
The engine is the old Talbot Horizon 1294cc OHV unit with cam chain. The car is highly original and even has the distributor 'glove' fitted from new to keep water out of the electrics.
All of the original Peugeot handbooks are present including the 309 Owners Handbook, the Warranty/ Service Record, the Maintenance Booklet, the Owners Guide, the Dealer Location Guide and the Export Network booklet, plus the Peugeot Lioncare AA Member Handbook 19990/ 1991, Peugeot Talbot motor insurance leaflet, the stereo/ radio manual, all in the dealer Peugeot foldout wallet. Also I have the Peugeot Lioncare AA plastic card with the registration and 1st owners details on it, the AA key (in the original AA brown mini-envelope), and numerous old tax discs.

I have had 4 brand new Falken Sincera 165/ 70/ R13 tyres fitted as the 309 was still running on 3 of its ORIGINAL 4 tyres when I purchased it.
