Here we have one exceptional 1955 Austin Healey 100 ready to enjoy and tour the continent in, just restored including fantastic upgrades and with only a few hundred miles since.
Built on 11 January 1955 and delivered to Madrid this late BN1 model Healey WSU 243 was well specified from new with wire wheels, a heater, laminated windscreen and miles per hour speedometer and finished in Old English White with Red leather interior to which the car was accurately restored.
At present day WSU 243 has received a plethora of new exciting upgrades during its restoration above this factory specification. The comprehensive list includes the full Le Mans 100M treatment of modifications (louvred bonnet, leather strap, larger carburettors, performance camshaft, upgraded pistons) plus a fast road alloy head, rear crank oil seal conversion, a gear reduction starter motor is fitted plus a later 4-speed overdrive Healey gearbox and an increased rear axle ratio giving the car much longer legs and making it very ideal for high speed, long distance cruising.
Restoration of the car was comprehensive and started from an already very good barn find, with every panel retained during the cars body off, nut and bolt rebuild. The works were undertaken by a Healey specialist with the car painted in stages, the engine and gearbox fully rebuild and the whole car rewired, replumbed and much more. Restoration was finalised in August 2020 and the car has covered just a few hundred miles since, remaining in perfect condition for a new owner to seize this rare opportunity to buy a very tastefully built new restoration.
