Now SOLD* Similar High Quality Classic's Wanted. A rare and iconic 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi LHD with just 15300 miles from new. This outstanding example has been part of a significant private collection based in the U. S, Switzerland and France, being regularly maintained and cared for during its long-term storage.
Rare Factory BB paint scheme option, only available for US cars, Rosso Corsa/ Black with Nero Leather seats and black carpets. One of only 200 built from a production run of 1743 in that year. Factory optioned electric windows, air conditioning, central locking and Targa roof panel cover. Original delivery/ broadcast sheet, service invoices and all factory books and wallet complete with tool roll, jacking tools and both original sets of keys.
Its first and only US owner held the car for 20 years covering just 13000 miles in that time. After being acquired as part of the previous mentioned collection it remained there until its subsequent sale and importation into the UK in September 2018.
Prior to its commencement of use at 13339 miles it was sent to Grimaldi Engineering for a major service and re-commissioning, covering new belts, new fuel metering system, new discs and reconditioned callipers and pads at a cost of £7600. At that time, it was given a new MOT without advisories. Being 40 years old now classed as a Historic Vehicle and therefore exempt from MOT and road tax.
I have personally driven a little over 1500 miles in this car, during which this highly original and beautiful example performed impeccably, proving that exotic Italian motorcars can in fact, and indeed should be driven and enjoyed.
Arguably one of the nicest low mileage 308’s available anywhere today.
