THIS is my 1963 Ford Anglia van in bright red, as in Fire Engine red. Indeed, if my memory serves me correctly, Ford Anglia vans were actually used by the English Fire Services as small commercials. I am sure I can picture one now with a blue light on the roof and Coats of Arms of the appropriate County on the side panels and doors!
Before we go any further, I don't appear to have got the shade of red quite correct here (Not for the first time with my photography skills!).
So, bear in mind that the van is a BRIGHT RED AS IN FIRE ENGINE RED!
She is in superb all round condition and how rare is it to come across an Anglia Van for sale? They look so much more refined and stylish than their counterparts from the same era i. e. the Morris Minor van, Austin A35 van, Standard 10 van etc.
Have a look about. You won't find many more. That's if you can find another at all!
Great structurally with a stunning engine bay, I reckon she ought to be used for the purpose for which she was built. That is so say as an "advertising vehicle" for a small business. Maybe I ought not to sell her and use her myself!
Super paintwork, re-trimmed cab and an exceptionally tidy load bay.
Anyway, it's an ultra-rare opportunity to acquire one of these fine Ford commercials.
Please remember that these classic cars are the equivalent of motoring antiques and cannot, under any circumstances, be compared to your new BMW. Go around them with a fine toothcomb and you will find faults. They all have them unless they are presented as concours! They all need ongoing love and care. They tend to leak oil in varying degrees. They may break down, play up or even present you with a mystery that takes some solving. But that is all part and parcel of classic car ownership. They are there to be loved and cherished like a family pet. They are our motoring heritage and should be treated as such. This old girl for example is now 58-years-old.
