We are pleased to offer for sale this fun and vibrant 1974 VW 181 Trekker
We bought this particular example as it was extremely solid, and offered us a blank canvas to improve upon.
We went all out and decided to change the body colour from light blue to Apple Green- the same shade as offered on the rare VW Beetle GT, along with a host of other improvements across the whole vehicle.
The car has benefitted from a full body-off respray. It is totally corrosion free in every regard.
Mechanically, the car has been thoroughly recommissioned, with various new parts throughout wherever necessary regardless of cost. Larger wheels and new tyres have been fitted to increase ride height. At some stage, the engine has been changed to a 1300cc unit.
A new hood and side screens have been specially made, and fit beautifully. The interior has also been professionally retrimmed with basket weave vinyl.
Unique finishing touches extend to the handbrake lever, gear knob and switches, all specially commissioned from Built by Basil. Bespoke duck boards have been created for the floors too.
This rare and uniquely specified Trekker wants for nothing and is now ready and waiting for a new owner to enjoy! MOT to July 2022.
